CHS works alongside the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Support Team (MHST) who provide advice, support and training. If you are concerned about your child’s mental health, please contact Miss Hayes for advice or to complete a referral to SOLAR. SOLAR provides a variety of therapeutic services to pupils including CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), art therapy and family support.
In addition to working with the MHST, CHS provide regular opportunities for pupils including Learning Mentors, Relax Kids sessions, Ordinary Magic interventions and the ADHD nursing team.
Coleshill Heath School is fortunate enough to have Solihull’s Nurture Provision, Refresh on our school site. Refresh is a two term, early intervention setting for children with Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The aim is to support pupils who are having difficulties in school, but with additional nurture and support who can return to their mainstream school.
Working closely with the home school and the pupils’ families, they offer teaching and support staff with additional knowledge, skills and expertise in the area of SEMH who will deliver an innovative and engaging curriculum. Pupils also benefit from access to an onsite Play Therapist.
If you are interested in finding out more about a referral to Refresh for your child, please contact your child’s class teacher. Miss Hayes will then make an appointment to meet with you. All referrals are discussed and places are allocated at panel meetings.
