As a Values based school, an important aspect of all our children’s learning is our ‘active’ promotion of the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We promote British Values as a whole school through:

  • our learning culture
  • our positive behaviour strategy – with the core messages be ‘Ready. Respectful. Safe.’
  • by enabling pupils to experience democracy in action by electing peers to our School Parliament, as Code Captains and as Sports Reps and thereby ensuring that every pupil has a voice that is listened to
  • within our everyday lessons and oracy learning – teaching pupils to articulately express their points of view, actively listen to the views of others and constructively challenge others
  • through our British Value Home Learning Projects. Each year group from Reception to Year 6 complete a half termly British Value Home Learning Project. This is completed with help of our strong parent partnership.
